Playoff Prediction!

Opey Higgins
Doubleday Daily

Doubleday Headquarters, MO

I'd like to make predictions for the remaining playoff games starting off with the Richmond vs. Pittsburgh Divisional Play-in Series.. Tied at 2 games a piece I feel Pittsburgh has the slight edge. I think the game changer will be Izzy Harris of Pittsburgh! Izzy has been batting pretty well in the series and I think he's ready to blow up.

Division Championship Series

Philadelphia vs. Jacksonville
Philly has the more explosive Pitching staff and what appeared to be a better offense.. Both teams are definitely a hard draw in the playoffs.. If I have to pick anyone here it would be Philly based on the fact they've never been to the World Series.

Salt Lake City vs. New York
Salt Lake City won a division dominated by Montreal for just about every season.. This season they managed to overcome the huge season of Seattle. Now they play a team that has 3 MVP candidates, 1 Cy Young candidate and a ROY candidate! New York is simply amazing and I plan on seeing them take out Salt Lake City even though I'd love to see the AL North win the World Series.

Scottsdale vs. Cleveland
This is the 4th trip to the playoffs for Scottsdale and the first for Cleveland! Both teams posting franchise record win seasons.. I would love to pull for Cleveland but I think Scottsdale's pitching with just be too much!

Brantley Closing in on Hits record?

Opey Higgins
DOUBLEDAY DAILY

Denver,Colorado

DH/1B Daniel Brantley
Current Season
193 HITS

Age: 27
B/T: L/L

Height: 6-2
Weight: 213

Born: Kingston, MA

Daniel Brantley has 193 hits in 144 games.. The single season record held by Homer Vance is 217.. Can Brantley break the record? With just over 14 games to go and only needing 25 hits I think it's doable.. We'll keep watching as this unfolds.
